The Company was incorporated in 1966 as the regional headquarters of a New Zealand based waterproofing business. After a management buy-out in 1989, the current Hitchins' waterproofing business was established and listed on the SGX- SESDAQ in 2003 as Hitchins Group Ltd.

In January 2007, M.E. Development L.L.C. acquired a strategic stake in the Company and the Company was renamed as Middle East Development Singapore Ltd.

In November 2008, M.E. Development L.L.C. sold its shares in the Company and ceased to be a substantial shareholder.

In January 2009, Germir Group Limited acquired 14.66% interest in the Company.
